With a lifetime of television production experience, mainly in New Zealand, I have vision mixed for more than 25 years and consider myself to be an expert in my field with a passion for television and vision mixing in particular. I thrive on a challenge and the creativity of the job, especially in a live to air environment.
I have been freelance vision mixing since 2008 working on contract to all New Zealand networks and some independent television production companies both in studio and on location operating a variety of panels including Sony and GVG. I also demo and train for Ross Video on a variety of production equipment, and am thier only New Zealand based trainer for the Carbonite switcher, In the past I demoed Snell's Kahuna switcher thiroughout Asia.
While directing and editing have taken a backseat to visionmixing I am occasionally called on to direct multi-cam studio and outside broadcast events often switching as well.
I am first aid certified, trained in workplace H & S, teaching adults and completed the TVNZ Management Development Programme.
Prior to freelancing I was employed at TVNZ, most recently in the Vision mixer Team Leader role.
My training was on the job at TVNZ where after time as a telecine and videotape operator I learnt to visionmix and studio direct then went on to train staff as part of this role.
I have recently purchased GoPros and have started shooting and editing sailing videos for the Hobsonville Yacht Club, some of my work can be sen on YouTube.
